Time, time, time
See what's become of me
While I looked around for my possibilities
I was so hard to please
Look around
Leaves are brown
And the sky is a hazy shade of winter...
...Hang on to your hopes, my friend
That's an easy thing to say
But if your hopes should pass away
Simply pretend that you can build them again
Look around
The grass is high
The fields are ripe
It's the springtime of my life
Seasons change with the scenery
Weavin' time in a tapestry
Won't you stop and remember me?
Look around
Leaves are brown
And the sky is a hazy shade of winter

this is beautiful and brilliantly done! I'm having trouble commenting at SPA but mine is here: http://artfromthewell.blogspot.com/2024/03/time-traveling-cat.html
this is pretty.
Wow, gorgeous card, I always love rusty things, too. I can relate to the "looking back in time" portrait of the woman in the clock, and also the poem. So much thought went into this, I really love it! :) PS - I try to keep looking forward, but at my age, there's so much to look back on!
Lovely artwork Deann, and I like your blog header image, too.
Deann, the combination of the stunning timepiece artwork and the song is brilliant. It evokes a curious mixture of melancholy and hope, which is ramped up by the quiet tones of the image. Loving the layer upon layer here.
Perfect and haunting image for those lyrics. xoxo
This is beautiful.
